Westmount Eyecare is locally owned by Dr. Scott Karaim who grew up in the area and has been seeing patients since 1998. Westmount Eyecare continues to serve the community and surrounding area for all their eye care needs in their new location at Circle Square.
Our goal is for our patients is to experience a lifetime of good vision by providing the best visual solutions for their ever changing visual needs.

Dr. Scott Karaim is an Edmontonian, born and raised with a passion for his city and the people who live here. Dr. Scott attended the University of Alberta and while working towards his Bachelor of Science Degree he played for the Golden Bears Men’s Basketball team winning a National Championship. It was during his time as an undergraduate student that he became interested in Optometry through working with Dr. Shelley Lindberg-Krein and Dr. Steve Krein at Westmount Eyecare. He went on to graduate from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1998 with distinction and returned to his home town where he joined the Westmount Eyecare practice that he now owns.
Dr. Scott Karaim is licensed to diagnose and treat ocular diseases. He is a member of the Alberta Association of Optometrists, the Alberta College of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. Dr. Scott takes pride in the care his gives to his patients and looks to continue years of service in his community.
Born and raised in the Edmonton area, Dr. Krein studied at MacEwan University before completing his bachelor’s degree in Visual Sciences at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. He then went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry.
Dr. Krein trained at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, where there was an emphasis on the treatment and management of ocular disease. He has also trained to the full scope of medical optometry in the Oklahoma Cherokee Health System where he was certified in laser therapy for the anterior segment as well as surgical procedures for the optometric physician. Dr. Krein also has a variety of experience in treating binocular vision problems, pediatric visual disorders, as well as the fit of contact lenses.
Dr. Krein is a member of the Alberta Association of Optometrists, the Alberta College of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. He maintains academic standards that license him to practice optometry to the full scope in both the United States as well as Canada.
